The difference in casing only affects tool compatability. I've read that 10.8v batteries from either will work in the chargers as the contacts are the same. I've noticed that the AL1130 CV is sold for Bosch's Green range and Blue range. Do you know anyone else with a 12/10.8v charger you could try? If they don't work on theirs either, you could take them back for refund/exchange or register them online with Bosch and have them look at or exchaange them. Other than that, if you bought your two 4.0's together, it could well be that they're froma faulty batch. The manual says it could be due to dirty contacts but assuming from your comment that the 4.0's are new, I can't see that being the problem. It could mean hot batteries, but as you tried 2, I think we can rule that out. This could mean the battery not inserted properly but we can rule that out I think. Same charger is sold in a kit/starter pack with 2x4.0ah batteries.Ī flashing red light on the charger means there's a fault of some sort.
The AL1130 should charge your 4.0ah's no problem.
